Clenching and/or grinding the teeth is called “Bruxism”
Bruxism comes in various forms –
- Sleep Bruxism – this accounts for about 90% of all nocturnal bruxism, and is actually part of a Sleep-Related Breathing Disorder. We will soon be covering this in more detail.
- Other forms of Bruxims – there are numerous other forms of Bruxism, sometimes occurring during the day as well as night-time. These are sometimes related to stress, biochemical imbalances, reactions to medications or foods, and cvarious other known and unknown sources. We still have a lot to learn about these, but we can help to minimise or eliminate pain or harm done by Bruxism in almost all cases.
More detailed information will be added soon.
