Are your teeth looking like Autumn for Summer?

Are your teeth looking too yellow? …or brown or grey?

There are things we can do to help at Mountains Dental Whitening…

There are various reasons for discolouring of teeth –

  • They naturally darken with age
  • certain foods and drinks will stain the teeth – including tea, coffee, red wine some of the dark green vegetables, beetroot, carrots, and lots more
  • some antibiotics used in childhood
  • some medications
  • and more…

Knowing the cause can make a big difference to the choice of treatment, and this makes a big difference to the final result.

This is why you need to have your whitening done by a properly trained dentist.  They can look into the history and decide first if the stain is “intrinsic” (from the inside) or “extrinsic” (on the surface).  Then the properly trained professional, can choose the right type of peroxide bleach is best for you, and work with you to decide the routine which best fits your needs and lifestyle.

But there is a problem…

Many people choose to buy their tooth whitening from beauty salons, hairdressers, tattoo parlours, department stores, pharmacies or online.  None of these sources can provide the diagnosis and proper treatment plan needed for successful whitening.

Also, those providers usually use generic trays for their bleaching gels.  These trays do not fit the teeth and gums properly, so there is significant leakage aound the edges – both gel leaking out and saliva leaking in.  Saliva contains “peroxidase” enzymes which quickly break down the whitening agent and diminish or eradicate the effect of the process.

Finally, these sources can not legally provide the higher concentration of bleaching gell that dental professionals typically use as their standard

Unfortunately, Dentists are taught nothing about Tooth Whitening at University.  And it is hard to find the best information, even after graduation.  Research is there, but not always easy to find.  And even when you do access the necessary information, there is still the need to find the best resources, and team to work with to provide the very best for our patients.

Dr Baret has been providing whitening services for his patients with good success for some decades, all the while increasing his knowledge and understanding, and looking for the best partners to work with.  There are quite a few products available from the Dental Supply Companies – but I found them to be unreliable and often manufactured in facilities that do not specialise in whitening materials.

Recently, I came across a company that can provide the quality product that my patients deserve.  Boutique Whitening sources the highest quality whitening gel from a specialist facility in Canada, and backs up the product with a great delivery system, storage and information.

We can now provide the highest standard and most reliable whitening in Australia, at Mountains Dental Whitening.
